ARMOR OF GOD SERIES
Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16).
Let’s examine the events that took place at the time of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ: A few moments before noon, one sinner hanging on the right side of Jesus pleaded, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom” (Luke 23:39-43). At noon, naturally, at the top of the day when the sun is shining its strongest, there was total darkness over the whole land until 3 o’clock in the afternoon when Jesus finally committed His Spirit unto His Father in Heaven.

At noon, naturally, at the top of the day when the sun is shining its strongest, there was total darkness over the whole land until 3 o’clock in the afternoon when Jesus finally committed His Spirit unto His Father in Heaven.
After Jesus died on that cross, a great earthquake
shook all the land and the curtain covering the most holy place inside the
Temple tore into two (Matthew 27:51).
Tombs of the believers of Jesus Christ were broke open and, coming out of
their graves, they went into the holy city and appeared to many (Matthew
27:52-53). All these events culminated
in a confession of the crowds along with the Roman centurion, a soldier in
executer Pontius Pilate’s regimen, confirming that “Surely
he was the Son of God.” (Matthew 27:54).
Later, the legs of the thieves’ who hung with Jesus
were broken and Jesus’ side was pierced, to declare the reality of His death. He
was buried in a tomb which was secured by a seal with a guard posted outside
(Matthew 27:66). It was within this 3-day time line that Jesus disarmed principalities and powers and made a public spectacle
of them, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:15). That is, He collected the keys from Satan
that were holding the believers of Christ captive, set them free, and publically
disgraced His enemy, the devil, by letting him see that
death could not hold Him captive, even in the grave, HE IS LORD.
Then on the third day—THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (SUNDAY)—HE IS RISEN, resurrected and CHANGED THE HISTORY OF HUMANITY FOREVER. That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). All the events outlined above took place for the sole (soul) purpose of our salvation!

Jesus’ response to the thief hanging on His right
side was: Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be
with Me in Paradise (Luke 23:43). That repentant sinner’s faith in who Jesus is
became His entrance pass into Paradise as a born-again soul. A soul saved has been born of God and For whatever is born of God overcomes the world [Satan’s
fiery darts]. And this is the victory
that has overcome the world—our faith (1 John 5:4).
That is the FAITH of the saints—believers in Christ Jesus:
That He shed His blood, died and rose again disabling all satanic plans against
Him and all of us who believe on Him. THE ARMOR IS THE SHIELD.
THE WEAPON IS OUR FAITH.
As we previously discussed: For with your heart one believes unto
righteousness; that righteousness is Christ living in you. YOUR FAITH IS YOUR SPIRITUAL REALITY. Whatever you believe in becomes what’s real
to you. That’s why it is so important to
carry out THE GREAT COMMISSION.
Jesus did not shed His blood in vain, but for the salvation of every man
and woman on this planet. If humanity is
to be saved, belief in Jesus must become a global reality. Jesus must be alive and active in you, the
Soldier, for Him to be made real in the life of the sinner.
THE BELIEF—YOUR FAITH—IN THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS YOUR SHIELD. What element overcomes fire? Is it not water—liquid? When the fiery darts of the devil are shot at the Christian, the only element that can quench that fire is liquid; and that liquid is called THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

So what are you afraid of, Mighty Soldier of the
Lord? ACTIVATE YOUR FAITH. Put it to godly use. Charge it up, spark it, set it ablaze in
Christ by testifying about Him, by trusting in His Word, by praying in
supplication, by fasting, by tithing and giving, by bearing the fruits of the
Holy Spirit. DO NOT WAIVER OR DOUBT what
Jesus can do in your situation right now.
When the father of the son attacked by fiery darts
of a devilish epileptic and mute spirit was told: “If
you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark
9:23); he immediately cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief! (Mark 9:24).
The father did believe in who Jesus is; and he heard of the miracles
Jesus performed. That’s why he brought
his son to Him. He cried out with tears
because he had been in so much pain watching his son in so much pain for so long,
he wanted instant healing, but may have questioned “How is it possible?” as we
all do when put into situations which seem hopeless.
The response—how we think, speak, act or behave—to faith
is called HOPE. Now faith is the
substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
[Our spiritual reality is made into physical reality by the evidence of the
good that comes out of our struggles; in other words, Faith is
the cancellation of natural law1 based on hope for the outcome we
are expecting] (Hebrews 11:1). Satan knows that and tries to
kill our hope with fear and doubt. The
father knew that if his son was to receive that miraculous healing, there could
be no doubting (double-mindedness) in him.
When we scream: HELP MY UNBELIEF! it quenches fear’s fiery
dart of doubt and sends it back to sender!
Is your faith the size of a mustard seed? If the tiniest of seeds on earth can remove
mountains (Mattew 17:20), then pray unto the Lord: “Lord, I
believe; help my unbelief! (anything that is blocking the
activation of my total 100% faith) and simply believe that what you pray for
you have received (Mark 11:24). Shout: AMEN! For all the
promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God
through us [His children] (2
Corinthians 1:19-20).
