33: STEP 2: A Cry for Life!

STEP 2: A Cry for Life!

Mrs. Mary dug a trench in the pediatric ward waiting room pacing for what seemed like a hundred hours as her son succumbed to the knife of skillful surgeons fervently attempting to put back together a spleen ruptured on a soccer field by an unexpected punch from a  furious football knocked out by his 8th grade (Junior High School Form Two) classmate. Boys play hard, right? But unto death?

Her husband rushed in feverish from a frantic taxi ride with questions on his frozen frowning brow: “How could this happen!? and “What’s going to happen now?”  Hand–in-hand without speaking word, the couple silently walked to the hospital chapel, knelt down before the presence of the Lord, and poured out their souls-in-despair that the life of their only child be saved.

Life is so full of twists and turns, that it makes our heads spin over the controversies we meet:  If we are Christian, why do bad things happen to us?  When we come to Christ, isn’t He supposed to make our life happy and perfect, free of pain and struggle?  Why all the twisted trials and perplexing problems?  Oh, God, what does all this mean?  Isn’t your plan for us—born-again Children of God--to give us a better future on earth and a heavenly hope after life on earth?  So, what’s with all these terrifying troubles now?

But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out abundantly though Jesus Christ our Saviour (Titus 3:4-6).

When you have taken the first step toward salvation of your soul by admitting: “I am a sinner”, the next step is to fully be in agreement with God, our Saviour, that He hates all sin, NOT THE SINNER; and as we have travailed over this concept of sin, we have realized that any word, thought or action (taken or not taken) that is contrary to the holiness of God, is sin, is evil, and is the working of the flesh triggered by the devil—but committed by you.  Don’t blame the devil for your intentional choices and actions.

ALL SIN LEADS TO DEATH.  What is death? DEATH IS THE END OF LIFE.  As humans, we are physical and we are non-physical--psychological and eternal.  The physical is what doctors can cut open and fix.  The non-physical, doctors of the mind attempt to balance and doctors of the soul—pastors, priests, prophets, evangelists and teachers—try to lead toward life everlasting when physical life here ends.  The body that dies is buried or cremated; the mind that dies is placed in an asylum; the soul that dies goes straight to hell-fire. YES, HELL IS REAL.

For the wages [the payment] of sin is death, but the gift [kindness, love and mercy] of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).

A sinner will eventually end up dead physically and non, if there is no desire to want to stop sinning.  That is why taking steps—that is, taking action—is part of our will that God has given to each of us.  It must be from our “will” that we take a step toward our salvation.  It cannot be forced upon us.  Our will to choose to come to Christ is purely a personal one which requires deliberate step-taking so that you, the one stepping, can identify all what God says is true. And, after you have received the gift, it becomes your greatest testimony of this life-changing experience to share with others drawing other sinners to the loving arms of JESUS CHRIST, OUR SAVIOUR—the One that gives us joy-filled, no more tears, no more sorrows, eternal life to our saved (from death) souls.

THE SECOND STEP TO SALVATION is to COME OUT OF DENIAL THAT HELL DOES EXISTS and not to be afraid to admit that “THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH.”

Know this as you take your second step toward salvation.  Satan is still roaring like a furious lion walking about seeking whom he may devour.  He does not want you to be saved.  And after you are saved, he will still come at you to get you off the track toward heaven.  He will never quit, so you must never give up through all the trials, troubles and tribulations of life.  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world [trials, troubles, tribulations].  And this is the victory that has overcome the world—OUR FAITH.  Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:4-5).

Like Jason, lying under the scalpel of an experienced successful surgeon, so, too, are our souls succumbing either to the wages of sin or to the gift of eternal life.  We are in an emergency room of our lives right now in our time; and we must make a determined decision now.  Do you trust the most experienced Master Surgeon who can give life eternal to your soul?  The earnest fervent united prayer of his parents were answered; and Jason lived.  DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?

DON’T BE AFRAID.  TAKE THAT 2ND STEP.  DO YOU RECOGNIZE THAT THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH?
