74: Name Them One by One

 Living In Abundance Series

 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31).

Moving out of your comfort zone means breaking away from the spirit of oppression and expressing yourself as God, your Creator, made you to be.  If you live under dominating spirits, they constantly tell you, “You are not ---- enough, or “You think you know it all” or “How do you think you, who are ----- , can accomplish such a task?” NEVER EVER MIND THOSE WORDS.

Get deep-seated in the WORD OF GOD which speaks volumes on achieving VICTORY IN CHRIST, “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14).  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37).  The Bible is filled with hundreds of verses that all ring out: “DO NOT FEAR FOR I AM WITH YOU!”

 GOD IS FOR YOUR VICTORY.

So right now, in your quiet space, name all the victories you’ve had up to now.  These things are called blessings, and the songwriter inspires us to Count your blessings, name them one by one . . . and it will surprise you what the Lord has done1 all throughout your life.

That sickness could have killed you, so too could have that car when you were driving on that dark highway or crossing that bustling road.  The food prepared for you could have choked you, but it didn’t; and you can name all the things that could have stolen, killed or destroyed you and all who or what matters to you, but you are still here today.  SO MANY GOOD THINGS HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU. NAME THEM ONE BY ONE.  Yes, there will be setbacks, trials, failures, betrayals, and a whole lot of other bad stuff, but that does not diminish nor erase GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU.

Who can be against us?  The devil has no power over a Holy Spirit filled anointed child of the Most High God.  Yet, he will come at you with all his strength to paralyze you with fear or anger or bitterness to halt your victory in Christ Jesus.  And you’ve got to name these demonic influences as well as the blessings.  Why?  Because, just like David, you are not going to run away, cower and cry in a corner, or disconnect from reality. You’re going to face them, defeat them and move into your life of victory and abundance.  It’s time to stop ‘dancing’ around these demons. It’s time to slay them.

So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that DAVID HURRIED AND RAN TOWARD THE ARMY TO MEET THE PHILISTINE (1 Samuel 17:48).

 Get out of your comfort zone now and hurry to defeat your enemy!  Name them one by one: fear, intimidation, procrastination, inferiority complex, disappointment, poverty mindset, shyness, and so on.

 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slang it and struck the Philistine in his forehead; so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth (Read 1 Samuel 17:49-54).

Dear Christian, do you not understand that we do not battle with flesh and blood, but against demonic principalities or forces in the spiritual realm?  So where is your armor? Read Ephesians 6:10-18; and get up and do it!  Speak the Word of God with all boldness to your named enemy, just as David spoke with all veracity before destroying Goliath: This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you (1 Samuel 17:46).

 Shout out with all boldness: GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN ME THAN HE WHO IS IN THIS WORLD.  TODAY AND EVERY DAY THE DEVIL IS DEFEATED AND OUT OF MY WAY TO VICTORY—IN JESUS’ NAME!

 Equip yourself, Dear Soldier of the Lord, and Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  You can’t fight evil on human strength.  That’s a petty spiraling nowhere kind of life of tit-for-tat which has no goal for living in victory and in abundance.  Put away all those things which make you feel “comfortable” and pick up your cross, put on your armor and run toward your victory as you slay all the demons that are assigned to block your progress.

You are given all authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and NOTHING SHALL BY ANY MEANS HURT YOU! (Luke 10:19).

 AMEN!

1.     Lyrics to song Count Your Blessings were written by Johnson Oatman Jr. in 1897 to remind us to be grateful for the good God has done in our lives.

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev'ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by. (Refrain)

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high. (Refrain)

So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end. (Refrain)
