90: The Anointing Breaks the Pain

 It’s A New Season

New can be defined as different from the one that previously existed. To exist simply means to be.  We exist because of our being created by God—the Supreme Being; and in Him we live, move and have our “being” (Acts 17:28).  You are the possessor of God’s image, and therefore carry His ‘being’—who He is—in you.  You’ve got God in you.  You are anointed to do His good will.  That anointing consecrates you—sets you apart as someone dedicated to a special purpose or service.

You are not alone when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake (Matthew 5:11).  “They” chose to release a corrupt criminal, a notorious prisoner, Barabbas, and to crucify Jesus (Matthew 27:15-23), the Christ, or “Anointed One”.  Jesus’ purpose on earth was so ultimately consecrated that Satan proved a fearsome force through Jesus’ persecutors—in order to stop that purpose.  Jesus’ disciples, spiritual “babies” could not discern even a little of what was going on, that’s why they slept in the Garden of Gethsemane as Jesus dripped tears of blood in prayer.

Jesus’ purpose, however, was kept hidden from the forces of darkness.  “They” thought that He was to come and rule as king over them.  But the true purpose of Jesus was the crucifixion—He was to die nailing our sins to the cross in order to redeem, or buy back (purchase), humanity and restore each soul back to its original quality of innocence and its intended condition of purity and holiness.  Jesus’ purpose was to liberate us from defilement, pay for the wages of sin, and to give back to us our ‘first’ Garden-of-Eden relationship with God, our Creator, the one who made us to “be” in Him, as a likeness of His image.

The purpose of Jesus was so concealed that “they”, His haters, wanting to have him destroyed, were actually helping Him to complete His purpose!  That is the way of consecration.  Sometimes, a life-purpose may have to be kept between only you and God, but as you move in it, those watching you may not understand nor have an inkling as to why or what or even how you’re doing it.  Your life’s purpose may have to be done privately, until the time God tells you to reveal it.  Jesus knew His life-purpose all along; and only revealed it to His disciples just before the Passover.

In order to live, move, and have being in the anointing of God, you must get solemn, get to a secret place, get quiet and be stirred in your soul to listen to and to follow Jesus’ way of handling a life-purpose.  You don’t have to apologize, nor explain who you are to those who refuse to hear you.

It’s a new season in your life when you can comprehend the breadth, the width, and the depth of God’s love for you; and feel His presence, His anointing, flowing through you.  You are made anew in this anointing and dedicated to a life-purpose which puts you aside as one who is peculiar, or “different”, from others.  Each person on earth has a life-purpose.  Unfortunately, not everyone is living theirs.

When you decide to live, move, and have being in God, through Christ, you are declaring war on everything devilish.  The attacks will come, the rejection, the false accusations, the abandonment, but you must hold on to the One who sent you.  You must cling to Jesus, the author and finisher of the faith you possess so strongly.

He will not give you more than you can endure.  He is a faithful God, a Father of incredible love and infinite mercy to those to cling to Him in faith. For in, by, and through faith you are justified: Declared, “not guilty”.  God looks out for you, covers you, and defends and vindicates you.

You are not who you used to be.  It takes time and experience in living to build a steadfast relationship with God.  That relationship changes you, restores you, and gives you the gumption to do anything that pleases the Lord, even to the loss of family and friends.  Are you pleasing the Lord?  Or, are you pleasing the world?  Do you think it was easy for our Lord to walk upon this earth without being tempted to enjoy the wiles of this world?  Yet, knowing His life-purpose, He stayed steadfast on His mission; and now we all can be saved by His blood.

You can also live a life-purpose that is consecrated to the Lord.  His anointing breaks the pain of what you may experience by choosing to follow Him completely.  Choose to follow Him: And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit everlasting life (Matthew 19:29).  Do not be afraid of the future.  Rather, put your trust in the Lord, and He’ll work everything out for your good!

89: Experiencing the Anointing of God in You

 It’s A New Season

Restoration means to return something or someone to an earlier good condition or position.  It also means that a quality or ability that someone has not had (or used) for a long time, is made possible for them to have (or use) that quality or ability again.

The weapons of our warfare, as depicted in Ephesians 6:10-18, are used to combat the spiritual battle against our souls wherein sits our state of mind, our perception—how we “see” and interpret (give meaning to) what we sense—our emotions, or feelings.  Satan does a serious job at making us look at ourselves through mirrors of inferiority reflecting our image as grasshoppers in the presence of giants (Numbers 13:34).

Sarah was a young cocoa-colored girl always sitting at the front of a classroom of vanilla-colored pupils.  Inspired with God’s gift of the quality and ability of excellence (Exodus 15:7a), she did excel in academics often scoring the highest marks in class.  She was content among her group of peers, and remarkably, they encouraged and befriended her.  She trusted in their smiles and often leaned on their friendship when she needed strength to combat her outside world of living in a neighborhood they called “ghetto”, or the “projects”.

Adolescent Sarah enjoyed their conversations, their aspirations to go to the best universities, and even rode with them in their plush cars to social gatherings and high school events.  Her dream was the same as their dream—to be the best she could be, to live her dream in the best way possible.  When it was time to write college entrance exams, she exceeded the expectations of school guidance counselors; and received a scholarship to one of the best universities.

Sounds like a life of beauty coming out from ashes, doesn’t it?   What Sarah didn’t “see” or “hear” was the spiritual battle going on all around her.  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).  Strongholds are the evil imaginations of some (not all) “friends” who smile with you, but inwardly harbor evil thoughts for your downfall.  Strongholds are evil conversations of some (not all) “counsellors” who appear to support you, but speak evil of your quality and ability to those who can help promote you.  Strongholds can even be wrapped around your soul by those you love most and hold most dear in your heart who doubt or deny your quality and ability to get ahead and do something good with your life.

Strongholds are satanic with the goal to keeping you from rising to your fullest good potential of using the qualities and abilities God gave to you—your inborn talent(s).

Strongholds can be called “racism”, “tribalism” “jealousy”, “back-biting”, “rape”, “false accusation”, “rejection”, “envy”—all summed up as “hatred.”  They can sometimes be physically experienced; but most often are spiritual attacks that require spiritual ammunition to destroy.  That ammunition is the anointing of God in you.

Satan wants to use people to show your who you are in his mirror of inferiority.  To make you feel not good enough to live your dreams, or to block you from being filled with the joy of accomplishing your vision.  He puts folks in your way to slander, to mock, to discriminate, to block your way to living your purpose; in other words, to push, pull, and keep you down and your qualities and abilities buried.

But the anointing of God in you is His pillar of cloud by day and His pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22; 14:19-20) to lift you up and shine your qualities and abilities in His glorious light!  The anointing of God in you is His quality and ability of excellence—to excel in spite of the pain inflicted against you: to get up in spite of the falls you may have had, and to believe (have faith) in His goodness in spite of the false accusations you’ve endured.  The anointing of God in you is your boldness to take a step toward claiming your purpose and living it—to move forward leaving the past behind and pressing on toward the goal.  The goal?  Doing the will of God for your life.  You’ve got what it takes to make it happen because you’ve got God’s anointing in you.

Supernatural Nature by F. Johnson

God’s mirror shows His reflection in you—that new creation of superior quality and ability.  That new creation who made a vow to the Lord to forever keep Him in your heart, your soul, wherein lies your complete trust and confidence in Him to guide your life-path.  Promise God that you will commit to the purpose He’s given you to fulfill successfully in your lifetime; and He will fight any physical and spiritual attack aimed at you.  He will restore you to His original good condition and position; and will strengthen your qualities and abilities to successfully complete your life’s mission.

Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You, for You have delivered my soul from death.  Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? (Psalm 56:12-13).

by F. Morris

But that doesn’t give you excuse to relax in prayer, in Bible reading, in fellowshipping with other believers, in worshipping God—the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit—in spirit and in truth.  Never relax in executing your weapons of warfare (Ephesians 6:10-18).  The anointing of God in you makes you wield those weapons fervently and effectively, stopping the evil desires of your enemies—making you unstoppable.
