89: Experiencing the Anointing of God in You

 It’s A New Season

Restoration means to return something or someone to an earlier good condition or position.  It also means that a quality or ability that someone has not had (or used) for a long time, is made possible for them to have (or use) that quality or ability again.

The weapons of our warfare, as depicted in Ephesians 6:10-18, are used to combat the spiritual battle against our souls wherein sits our state of mind, our perception—how we “see” and interpret (give meaning to) what we sense—our emotions, or feelings.  Satan does a serious job at making us look at ourselves through mirrors of inferiority reflecting our image as grasshoppers in the presence of giants (Numbers 13:34).

Sarah was a young cocoa-colored girl always sitting at the front of a classroom of vanilla-colored pupils.  Inspired with God’s gift of the quality and ability of excellence (Exodus 15:7a), she did excel in academics often scoring the highest marks in class.  She was content among her group of peers, and remarkably, they encouraged and befriended her.  She trusted in their smiles and often leaned on their friendship when she needed strength to combat her outside world of living in a neighborhood they called “ghetto”, or the “projects”.

Adolescent Sarah enjoyed their conversations, their aspirations to go to the best universities, and even rode with them in their plush cars to social gatherings and high school events.  Her dream was the same as their dream—to be the best she could be, to live her dream in the best way possible.  When it was time to write college entrance exams, she exceeded the expectations of school guidance counselors; and received a scholarship to one of the best universities.

Sounds like a life of beauty coming out from ashes, doesn’t it?   What Sarah didn’t “see” or “hear” was the spiritual battle going on all around her.  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).  Strongholds are the evil imaginations of some (not all) “friends” who smile with you, but inwardly harbor evil thoughts for your downfall.  Strongholds are evil conversations of some (not all) “counsellors” who appear to support you, but speak evil of your quality and ability to those who can help promote you.  Strongholds can even be wrapped around your soul by those you love most and hold most dear in your heart who doubt or deny your quality and ability to get ahead and do something good with your life.

Strongholds are satanic with the goal to keeping you from rising to your fullest good potential of using the qualities and abilities God gave to you—your inborn talent(s).

Strongholds can be called “racism”, “tribalism” “jealousy”, “back-biting”, “rape”, “false accusation”, “rejection”, “envy”—all summed up as “hatred.”  They can sometimes be physically experienced; but most often are spiritual attacks that require spiritual ammunition to destroy.  That ammunition is the anointing of God in you.

Satan wants to use people to show your who you are in his mirror of inferiority.  To make you feel not good enough to live your dreams, or to block you from being filled with the joy of accomplishing your vision.  He puts folks in your way to slander, to mock, to discriminate, to block your way to living your purpose; in other words, to push, pull, and keep you down and your qualities and abilities buried.

But the anointing of God in you is His pillar of cloud by day and His pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21-22; 14:19-20) to lift you up and shine your qualities and abilities in His glorious light!  The anointing of God in you is His quality and ability of excellence—to excel in spite of the pain inflicted against you: to get up in spite of the falls you may have had, and to believe (have faith) in His goodness in spite of the false accusations you’ve endured.  The anointing of God in you is your boldness to take a step toward claiming your purpose and living it—to move forward leaving the past behind and pressing on toward the goal.  The goal?  Doing the will of God for your life.  You’ve got what it takes to make it happen because you’ve got God’s anointing in you.

Supernatural Nature by F. Johnson

God’s mirror shows His reflection in you—that new creation of superior quality and ability.  That new creation who made a vow to the Lord to forever keep Him in your heart, your soul, wherein lies your complete trust and confidence in Him to guide your life-path.  Promise God that you will commit to the purpose He’s given you to fulfill successfully in your lifetime; and He will fight any physical and spiritual attack aimed at you.  He will restore you to His original good condition and position; and will strengthen your qualities and abilities to successfully complete your life’s mission.

Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You, for You have delivered my soul from death.  Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? (Psalm 56:12-13).

by F. Morris

But that doesn’t give you excuse to relax in prayer, in Bible reading, in fellowshipping with other believers, in worshipping God—the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit—in spirit and in truth.  Never relax in executing your weapons of warfare (Ephesians 6:10-18).  The anointing of God in you makes you wield those weapons fervently and effectively, stopping the evil desires of your enemies—making you unstoppable.

New Season1

 It’s a new season, it’s a new day

A fresh anointing is flowing my way

It’s a season of power and prosperity

It’s a new season coming to me.
