Tearless Cries

Have you ever cried with no tears?

Have you?

Ever cried

With no tears –

not

Even one drop

Yet the soul feels

Like you’ve been

wailing

And weeping and

Crying some more?

And you can’t . . .

Inaudible

But the soul heaves

Against pain

Inside the body

Silent; you keep it

Can’t smile or blink

Let alone think

Praying for . . .

that visible tear

So you can feel

Something

On the outside

Like a touch

Of a child’s hand

Or a caress

Of a lover’s smile

A generous greeting

A beautiful thought

Bringing you back

To a warmth again

When your body and soul

Were friends...

In your eyes

There is red

Though not one

Tear was shed;

In your soul

There is blue

Colour of the mood

In which your waters

Brood

enlarging

Drop by drop

In the night

Time non-stop

While you sleep deep

Still invisible at daybreak

Dear Child of God,

Why is your soul crying?  Of course it can’t produce tears, it’s not a physical body. I spoke to you in James 4:1-3.  You have the privilege to know Me through your Bible, through prayer, through praise, through fellowship with My other children.  When you come closer to Me, you will know what to ask for to make your pain go away. 

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30) . . . Take My Hand.
